What makes rug cleaning better in plant at our shop rather than your home? Rug cleaning in the home can give you a decent job but is not comparable to in plant. Why? In the home we do what's called a top down cleaning. A top down cleaning is not the same as a real in plant cleaning. Why? When we perform a top down cleaning we are using our truckmounted carpet cleaning machine. We use a cleaning want that injects a heated solution into the carpeting that loosens the soil and then extracts loosened soil with the vacuum. This is a highly effective solution for tacked down carpeting and especially nylon carpeting. On an in plant cleaning we are going to put your rug through several processes meant to help extend the service life of your rug and to give your rug the most thorough cleaning possible.
We start every in plant process with an inspection of your rug to determine what exactly needs to be done to achieve the best results while keeping safety in mind. All rugs are put through a thorough rug dusting procedure. Step one is remove as much dry soil as possible. Without proper care your valuable rugs can ugly out. What is proper care? Proper care consists of professional cleaning. Professional cleaning in the rug industry should always have a dry soil removal process as a first step in the cleaning process. Soil gets trapped deep down in your rug, especially in wool rugs. Vacuuming alone cannot effectively remove all the soil deposits. In Dunne Cleaning Specialists rug cleaning plant we use a dusting procedure. This is a specialized process for removing deep down trapped soil in oriental rugs. We have found it to be the best way to remove trapped soils in wool in particular. The process starts with rugs being laid down on the grates upside down. A rug dusting machine is then run over the backing. The rug dusting machine then gently agitates the backing causing it to release the soil. The soil then drops through the grates with the rug having above the soil not on top of the soil or in the soil. We then run a vacuum with a beater brush in the backing. The rug is then flipped over and a pile lifter vacuum is then used to vacuum and comb the face yarn to complete the process. This process is done before the real cleaning has begun.

Clean and rinse your rug on an annual basis. Wool is a wonderful product. A product that lasts an extremely long time if well taken care of. Rugs need to vacuumed regularly to help remove dirt that falls into the rug. This dirt can be very damaging for a rug. One of the first things we do in our cleaning plant is to put your rugs through a thorough rug dusting procedure to remove all loose dirt and soil. Vacuuming alone will not remove loose soil, it helps but dirt and soil become trapped deep in wool rugs. Rugs are then either hand cleaned or put through our oriental rug washing machine where they are cleaned and rinsed. Groomed and hung for drying. Rolled and wrapped after drying.

Dunne Cleaning Specialists is first rebranding our rug cleaning services as Dunne Area Rug Cleaning. This is a change that has been long time coming. We have been cleaning rugs from around the world for over 50 years. Over the last 60 days we have upgraded our facilities to better serve you our customer. We are proud to say we now boast the most modern rug cleaning equipment in the western suburbs! Most rug cleaning facilities have equipment developed in the 50's. The equipment is based on your great grandmothers washing machine. Rugs are washed and rinsed and then fed through a set of rollers to wring out the rug. This process can leave a rug very wet, especially fringes. This can make a rug more vulnerable during the drying phase. Our modern equipment abandons the wringer and replaces it with a centrifuge like your modern washing machine like you buy today. The rug is spun at 1200 rpm's extracting the majority of the water out and also has a rinse cycle as part of the centrifuge process flushing fresh water through the rug and out the centrifuge. Rugs that are put through a drying process with a centrifuge are practically dry when the leave the centrifuge. Most rugs leave the centrifuge registering less than 1% moisture on a moisture meter. Fall is almost here! Time to start thinking about getting some cleaning done. Weather will be changing soon. Time to call up your local rug cleaner, Dunne Cleaning g, and have him come out and pick up your rugs for cleaning or save some money and bring them in yourself. Cleaning in our shop greatly differs from cleaning in your home. We put rugs through a thorough rug dusting procedure first. this removes the dry soil that is typically trapped in your rug. This type of soil is very difficult to get out. A regular vacuum cleaner is not particularly effective at removing the trapped dirt. Where rug dusting differs is a rug is laid face down on top of some grates. The rug is elevated ion the grates above the floor. The rug dusting machine agitates the backing of the rug. This makes the dirt fall out of the rug through the grates to the floor. The rug backing is then vacuumed with a vacuum with a beater brush. We then flip the rug over and vacuum the face yarn with a pile lifter vacuum.

Man's best friend can be hard to love at times. While our pets can be great companions, they can have some accidents along the way. These accidents can happen on our expensive floor coverings like our area rugs. When this occurs it's important to blot up the area immediately. How to blot? I would get a roll of paper towels and a garbage can. Fold the towels and place them on the effected area. Stand on the towels and allow the moisture to go into the towel. When towels have absorbed the liquid - throw the towels into the garbage can. Keep repeating until the towels are dry. Then I would use a solution of a tablespoon of dish soap into a glass of water. apply the solution to the affected area. let sit for a little bit and then repeat the blotting.
If this does not help then the area rug will have to be taken in to a professional who does a soaking process. This process gives a thorough rinsing and cleaning. It is a more expensive process so the worth of the rug is important. This process while not guaranteed has been proven to be quite effective.
