How often should I get my furniture cleaned? Furniture is some of the most neglected of things we have in the cleaning process. When was the last time you cleaned your furniture? You sit on your furniture more than you lay on your carpeting or rugs. Why don’t you have your furniture rinsed? You are sweating through your clothes. The salts from your body sweats can and will damage your furniture. These salts can fade and damage your furnitures fibers.
How clean is your furniture really. Did your furniture slowly change color over time and you didn’t even notice it? I recommend you take a vacuum attachment, without a beater bar, and place a white cotton towel on it and vacuum your furniture. You may find that the towel comes back dirty. You and your children are sitting and laying in dirt.

Spotting, a how to guide

Professional spotting has come a long way. I have been in the cleaning industry for over 20 years now. When I first started working on spots it could be really hazardous. The big thing, and still is, don’t make it worse. Spotting agents are designed to loosen the spot from the fiber. What happens when the spot is loosened? It could just sit there or it could spread. Proper technique with an ink stain is to never apply the spotter directly to the spot. Apply the spotter to a white cotton towel. Then wipe towards the center of the ink spot. Never rubbing back and forth. Rubbing back and forth can spread the spot. Making the spot larger is not what we are after. You keep repeating the process until either the spot disappears or the ink stops appearing on the towel.
Some of the more modern spotters we use today are encapsulation products that allow us to break some of the rules are stated above. One rule that never changes though is to test for color fastness before you begin. Know what your spotter might do to the carpet fibers before you start working in the middle of your room. Always safety first.
Some spots will require rinsing with a professional machine, as well as professional assistance with removal. The real key to getting red out of fringe is not really in removing the red but in not destroying the fringe while removing the red dye. It isn’t that difficult for the average professional to remove red dye from fringe. What is difficult is neutralizing what you use to remove the red dye from the fringe.
This skill will separate the amateur from a professional. If you don’t neutralize the stripping agent the fringe will eventually breakdown. The stripping agent will continue to work until the fringe dissolves. So make sure when you have a fringe problem you have someone who knows what they are doing working on your rug.
Not all fringe problems can be corrected, sometimes you need to consider either liking with they issue or replacing the fringe.

In my opinion the best way to clean your air ducts is finding a company that uses power whips. Most companies in the industry just blow through the vents, never even taking tim off. Some companies take the vents off, and thoroughly wash the grills but then skip a thorough cleaning of your duct work. They leave you with shiny grill covers but the same dirty ducts you had before you hired them.
I believe the air duct system should be fed with a power ship. I don’t think you can give a proper cleaning without feeding the ducts. Simply blowing into the air duct system with a leaf blower will not clean your air ducts properly.
You must never forget you are cleaning your air ducts for several reasons. Some of these reasons are: Health - cleaner indoor air, furnace efficiency, increasing furnace longevity by keeping dust off of sensitive electronic parts. These things cannot happen without a thorough cleaning of the air ducts. So choose wisely when choosing someone to clean your air ducts or you will simply be wasting your money.
