When is the Best time to get your Air Ducts Cleaned?
22/04/11 11:31
Air duct cleaning is performed all year. There is never a bad time to get your ducts cleaned but the busiest time for most air duct cleaning companies is in the Spring and in the Fall. This is the time where we don’t have our heat on anymore, at least during the day, or our air conditioning on yet.
When is the best time to ensure there is quality air in your home? How about right now. Some of the benefits of air duct cleaning are:
♦ Makes your home healthier
♦ Can allow your furnace to run more efficiently
♦ Prolongs your furnace’s life by reducing dust flow through sensitive parts of your furnace
♦ Clean efficient systems are less likely to breakdown
♦ Protects your family from many different allergens discovered in the air duct systems
♦ Extracts allergy causing pollens, spores, mildew, dander, and dust mites
♦ Improves your indoor air quality

Carpet Cleaning & Scotchgard Protection go hand in hand
16/04/11 11:55
Did you renew your scotchgard protection when you last cleaned your carpeting? Did you know that almost all mid grade carpeting and above come from the factory with protector already applied? Over time the factory coated protector wears off for a variety of reasons. Time, foot traffic, and rinsing of the carpeting. Improper cleaning or cleaning using solutions with a high pH can really strip the protector out at excelerated rate. Thus leaving your without the protective barrier between the carpet and dirt, spills, stains.
Carpets can ugly out before they wear out if not properly protected. The difference between a stain and a spot is the stain is permanent and a spot can be removed. Think of spills and spots like a car accident. Nobody intended it to happen but it did. So thank god nobody was hurt and we have insurance. Spots and spills can happen at any time. We always take off our shoes, except that one time - we were in a hurry and didn’t see the oil in the driveway. We never eat in there but when Aunt Martha came over she had spaghetti in the family room. Aunt Martha doesn’t hate you but she still spilled right in the middle of the family room where everyone can see it! Scotchgard doesn’t make your carpet bullet proof but it can be the difference between a spot and a stain.
Regular cleaning and renewal of scotchgard protection are the keys to keeping your carpeting looking it’s best and extending the service life of your carpeting.

Furnace filters, which one should I use?
08/04/11 15:41
Your furnace filter has a lot to do with the cleanliness of your indoor air. Air duct cleaning should be performed once every 3 - 5 years. In between cleaning don’t skimp on the furnace filter. You just paid $250.00 - $1000.00 to get your air ducts cleaned. Why would you not spend another $15.00(one time use 1 to 2 month filter) or $60.00 to $80.00(washable, probably 5 year filter) to keep the system clean? Doesn’t make sense does it? Get yourself a good filter. A good filter can help keep your furnace clean as well. Most furnaces today have a lot of sensitive electronic components. Keeping these components clean can help with the efficiency of your furnace and also extend the life of your furnace.
Remember $60.00 is a small investment to make to keep your air cleaner and help extend the life of your furnace. Call us when you are ready to clean your air ducts. Air Duct Cleaning Page

Are your rugs really clean? Not are they covered with spills and spots but are they clean?
04/04/11 13:21
When people look at their rugs they think they are clean because they can’t see any visible spills or spots. Does this mean your rugs are clean? Actually no, it doesn’t mean your rugs are clean. Sometimes I hear that we never go in that room. Does that mean your rugs are clean? Again, actually no. Try this simple test, put a piece of white paper under the rug, stamp on top of the rug over the paper. Look at the paper and see if you find any dirt on the paper. You might be surprised. Another test could be to take your vacuum attachment and cover it with a cotton towel, a white cotton towel, and vacuum the surface of the rug. You might be surprised what you find. I usually surprise a lot of people on the job when I use our powerful vacuum with a clean white towel and show the customer how the towel has changed from white to dark within a couple of passes. Eureka did a test and found that a rug can obtain up to 87lbs of dirt and still look clean.
Would you wear a shirt that you had worn the day before if it looked clean? Probably not. Now would you lay on a rug that you hadn’t cleaned in a year, how about 2, or can I even remember when I had this rug cleaned? Think about it.
This soil can be harmful to the rug. Soil under a microscope can be jagged and can act like scissors on the carpet fibers scratching the fibers and cutting the fibers. This can prematurely wear out the rug or “ugly” out the rug. Regular cleaning and Scotchgard protections can lengthen the life span of rugs. Hand made rugs, when properly cared for, can be passed down if properly maintained. Besides who wants a dirty rug, how healthy is that?
