What does source removal method in air duct cleaning?

Source removal is a generic term used for air duct cleaning. It basically means to remove debris from the source, the ducts. A non-source removal method would be to seal the dirt into the walls of the air ducts instead of removing the dirt. It is a good question to ask because spraying a bunch of goop into the ducts to seal in the dirt is a bad idea but just getting a source removal method isn’t necessarily a good idea.

Always try and find out how the work is to be accomplished. Ask some questions and have the company explain why you should choose them. The best thing to do is have the company go out to your location and give you an in home estimate. Then the company can look over the system and tell you exactly what they will do to clean the system and how much the service will cost.

An in home estimate will limit the surprises. In home estimates also allows you to meet the company before you hire them. Then you can get a feel about if you think they are the kind of people you want in your home.
